Create a backup Google Workspace email id for sending and receiving mail for domain level user.

As a Google Workspace administrator, you control how email is routed and stored for your organization. You can custom-fit routing and delivery to suit your business or organization.


These are some examples of different ways to send and store email:

Gmail scans inbound mail for spam and compliance purposes, but the mail is stored on your external mail server.


Some users receive their messages in the Gmail inbox, and other users receive their messages from their local servers.


All users receive their messages in Gmail, but messages for unknown users are sent to a particular mailbox or server.


Login Your Google Workspace admin console by clicking on admin.google.com


Type the super admin credentials


Go to the user section and create an id which you want (according to your sophisticated i.e backup@techcloudsuraj.com )


Once the id creation done then need to follow the below steps:


1) Click On Apps => Google Workspace => Gmail => Advance settings

In the advanced section, you will get Routing option

In Routing click on Add another For Sending Mail Routing Type Mail sending routing 1) In the message effect Click on check-marks Outbound and Internal sending


2) Envelop Filter

  1. check marks on => Only affect specific envelope senders
  2. In the drop-down click on Pattern match In the regexp section, you have to add the (techcloudsuraj.com)$

Note: techcloudsuraj.com should be replaced by your actual domain name. Once the above setting done then need to scroll it down to deliver to Section field * Click on the check-marks. In the recipient section, you need to add the backup id which you have created


Then click on save and Add settings.

For Receiving Mail Routing Type Receiving routing 1) In the message effect

  1. Click on check-marks Inbound and Internal receiving Check-marks on => Only affect specific envelope receiver
  2. In the drop-down click on Pattern match
  3. In the regexp section, you have to add the (techcloudsuraj.com)$ Note: techcloudsuraj.com should be replaced by your actual domain name.
  4. Also, deliver to Section
  5. Click on the check marks.
In the recipient section, you need to add the backup id which you have created then click on save and Add settings.

Once all the routing (sending/receiving ) done then all the suraj.com user's mail would be landing into the backup mail id.
